English Clog Appalachian Irish Rapper
English Clog dancers wear heavy-soled clogs that make the wearer able to dance on the balls of the feet and tap loudly. Appalachian dancing is more laid back than clogging and dancers lean more on their heels. The dance originates from the North American Appalachian mountains and is influenced by native American, African, tap and European styles of dance. There are two types of Irish dance, with either hard or soft-soled shoes worn. The dance is energetic with the arms kept still by the sides. Rapper sword dancing is danced in teams of five people and uses blunt, flexible metal swords with wooden handles. The swords are used in figures, and there is less footwork than in the other styles.
